I already know that there’s going to be a few people out there from my hometown of Stratford that are going to say something like “Toronto? What the f*ck man? He’s not even from there!” so here’s the gist of it...About a year ago I advanced to the final round of WhatsGoodToronto.com’s “The Prospects” and as an added challenge, all finalists had to write and perform a Toronto “tribute” track. I had toyed with the idea of doing something to a classic T.O anthem like Choclair’s “Let’s Ride” or Kardinal’s “Bakardi Slang” but had this N/A beat lying around and thought it might work. We ended up recording a rough cut to help prepare for the show and after hearing it back and messing with a few things, we thought it was actually pretty good and deserved more than a one-off performance...so here it is! Now that THAT is cleared up, I have to say that I love the city of Toronto as it’s been my home away from home a couple nights a week for the past 5 years now.
