This is a song about weed that isn’t really a song about weed...at least not in the typical sense. When most people think of weed songs
they think of stoner anthems or something from Bob Marley’s catalogue that you used to bump when you were hotboxing your friends’ Mom’s Chevy Cavalier back in the day. This is not that type of song. Rather, this song is meant to raise questions about society’s other crutches (alcohol, tobacco, etc.) and bring to light the fact that most issues with weed have more to do with the individual user than it does with the herb itself. For example, I like to read history and philosophy books or research other topics of interest (spirituality, psychology, etc.) when I take the edge off. Is that any worse than the
over-weight mother of five who scarfs back a bag of pretzels every Tuesday night while watching Dancing With The Stars and Desperate Housewives of New Jersey back-to-back? She has her thing, I have mine.
